Today I am pleased to welcome back author, Beth Ann Masarik. She is here to share with us a cause near and dear to her own heart. Beth put together and published an anthology with all the proceeds going to charity. The charity Beth picked is one that helps kids with heart problems, something she herself knows something about. Please consider supporting this great cause. Here is Beth with more:
Thank you for having me on your blog again, Heidi! I just have to say, that she is the most wonderful person in the world, and I am honored to be here again. By the way, this is Beth Ann Masarik . I was here back in February talking about zombie-spiders and Hades for my blog tour for The World Among Us.
Well, today I am here to talk to you about an anthology that I published for charity. This was my first book that I published as well, a publisher and not an author. The anthology is called Writings From the Heart: Poetry and Stories From Around the World. All proceeds made from this anthology will go to the pediatric Cardiology unit at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center of NY, which is a part of the North Shore/LIJ health system.
I have a special post for you guys today. Instead of boring you with another reason why I published this anthology, I thought I would give one of the contributors the spotlight. Today, I have Steven Bergeron, and he has a nice little story for you all .
Enjoy!
For the children
What is congenital heart disease? Google describes it as a heart defect which affects many children at birth. It can lead to Down syndrome or even from drug or alcohol abuse during pregnancy. When Beth Ann came calling about her plan to put together an anthology of poems and short stories where the proceeds where going to the congenital heart division of the children hospital in New York it was simply something we had to do.
Through months of hard work, Writings From the Heart : Poems and Stories From Around the World became a reality. So why did we do it? Simply because we all have great stories that needed to be told. I was kind of skeptical at the beginning thinking that my story wasn’t good enough. That was until Beth Ann approached me and told me that my story Candlelight, Star Bright was chosen to be in the anthology.
I figured the time was right for the public to hear stories from Steven L Bergeron. I have always written as a hobby for my pleasure. I simply figured we all have to do our part in helping out the children for they are our future.
Thank you again for hosting Steven and I, Heidi! You guys can purchase the anthology in paperback from Barnes & Noble for only $9.36, or in electronic copy in all formats through Smashwords, Kindle, and Nook for only $4.99. If that is too steep for your wallet, during the week of July Fourth, I will be running a holiday special, and offering the electronic copy for $2.99.
In addition, for those of you who already have your electronic copies, I will be hosting a kindlegraph signing for anyone who wants an autographed copy! For more details about the anthology and myself, please visit my blog and click on the category, Charity.
Thanks Beth for being here and sharing this important cause with us. If any of you would like to help Beth promote this wonderful work on your blogs, please contact her on her website.
